Heartland is a specialized sales catalog that carries adoption
and infertility materials. Phillip and Laura Lynch are aware
of the need for readily available information on these subjects
because of their own 5-year journey through infertility and
their family formation through adoption, domestic and international.
Book selections and reviews are based on their experiences
as former infertility clients and adoptive parents.

Created in 1972, it is a private, non-profit organization
that expands adoption opportunities for children throughout
the US, especially for children with special needs and those
from minority cultures. They, along with Children Awaiting
Parents (CAP), also administer Faces of Adoption, an on-line

Established by Dave Thomas, founder of Wendy's Restaurants,
to help the thousands of children waiting to be adopted. Works
to raise awareness about the children and to provide direct
support for adoption programs. It does not fund individual
adoption applications or agency operating budgets.
As a result of a partnership with the Kellogg Foundation,
the National Adoption Center and the Dave Thomas Foundation
provide information about the federal adoption tax credit
and "An Employer's Guide to Adoption Benefits" which
includes model policies and strategies to encourage employers
to offer adoption benefits.
